Hi, I'm Nicole, the owner of Bayside Discount Trophies.
My journey into the trophy industry wasn't something I planned—it grew from family, a love of helping people, and an opportunity that came at exactly the right time.
Before starting Bayside Discount Trophies, I worked as a legal secretary. After having our four children, I knew returning to full-time office work would be difficult while they were still young. During family trips to Cairns, I'd often help my father-in-law, Chris, at his business, Cairns Discount Trophies. Those visits gave me a real appreciation for the industry and showed me how rewarding it was to help customers celebrate achievements and milestones.
When Chris retired, my youngest child was just two years old. With his guidance and encouragement, I decided to start Bayside Discount Trophies. What began as a small home-grown business has steadily grown over the past 17 years into a trusted supplier for schools, sporting clubs, businesses and community organisations throughout Brisbane and beyond.
One of the things I enjoy most is helping customers find the right award for their event. Whether it's a single engraved gift, a school presentation, a corporate awards night or a sporting grand final, I love working with people to create something they'll be proud to present.
Over the years, the business has become about much more than trophies. It's about the relationships we've built along the way. Many of our customers have been with us for years, and it's incredibly rewarding to play a small part in recognising the achievements of their students, athletes, volunteers and employees year after year.
Bayside Discount Trophies has also become a true family business. Although our children are now grown, they've all worked alongside me over the years, and I still jump at every opportunity to have them helping in the workshop. Watching the business become something our whole family has shared has been one of the most rewarding parts of the journey.
Every trophy, plaque and award that leaves our workshop represents someone's achievement, and we're honoured to play a small part in recognising those special moments.
